We helped to realise two temporary modular school extensions at existing educational institutions in order to secure the long-term school supply in Berlin Pankow and to meet the requirements of the increasing number of school students.
The locations for the school add-ons are the primary school at Hamburger Platz (LOG D) and the primary school in Moselviertel (LOG E). The latter was successfully handed over to the users in June of this year and now offers a modern learning environment for 182 schoolchildren. The outdoor facilities here are currently still under construction in order to create an environment that is as tangible and natural as possible for the children and thus offer them an inspiring play and learning environment.
A cafeteria that can prepare up to 660 meals a day was also added to the primary school on Hamburger Platz. The new extension offers space for up to 104 school children.
In both LOGs, eleven new classrooms were built to improve the studying conditions for the school children. By creating additional bright and colourful rooms, a modern and inviting learning environment has been created that both meets the needs of the pupils and supports the educational work of the teachers. The new classrooms not only help to improve teaching, but also promote social interaction and co-operation between the children.
The modular construction concept also allows for subsequent flexible adaptation to the existing structures should this be required in the future. Thanks to prefabrication in the factory and rapid assembly on site, the construction work could be completed quietly and in the shortest possible time without disrupting ongoing school operations. This further improved the overall environmental balance of the construction project.
Thanks to the specific planning and realisation of these projects, not only have the current requirements been taken into account, but also a sustainable solution for the increasing number of school children was achieved. We are proud to be able to make a contribution to a better educational infrastructure.
Finally, we would like to thank everyone who participated in the project, whose commitment and expertise contributed considerably to the success of this venture. We look forward to working on further joint projects together in the future!
