On 18 September 2024, the ÖGNB awarded sustainable projects for their compliance with the Total Quality Building (TQB) standards at the Seestadt Technology Centre and we are proud that the Sirius project (Aspern J4) is one of the award-winning projects. Building Section A and Building Section B2 achieved over 800 ÖGNB points.
The Aspern J4 project will be completed by WGA ZT GmbH in cooperation with Helen & Hard AS in autumn 2020. The multi-functional Sirius building consists of three components and is located in the centre of the “Seeparkquartier” on the southern shore of the lake.
The ensemble comprises 112 condominiums, 140 serviced apartments, offices, a community centre and commercial space.
The ensemble is characterised by generous landscaped terraces that run through all parts of the building. Highlights of the base are the large glazed ‘Magic Caves’.
The sustainable approaches were reflected in the points awarded for each of the evaluation criteria. The project’s focus on sustainability is immediately apparent in the use of timber.
The building was constructed using a timber-concrete hybrid construction method and scores highly for its connection to an environmentally friendly district heating network. A modern fresh air system ensures good indoor air quality and maximum comfort. The residential complex offers mainly 2- to 3-room apartments, with each unit having its own private outdoor space, which further enhances living comfort.
We are proud that our projects send out a clear message of sustainability and contribute to the future development of cities.
