Today, the Berlin Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) is hosting a congress entitled “Weltmetropole. Berlin leben & gestalten” (“World Metropolis. Living & Shaping Berlin”) at the Ludwig-Erhard-Haus and we are looking forward to new impulses and ideas. The congress will focus on current issues in Berlin’s urban development, such as dealing with conflicts, creating an even more liveable city and the solutions that business can offer. High-ranking guests from politics, administration, business and urban society will discuss topics such as housing and living, sustainable and future-oriented development of commercial areas, the future of centres, mobility and climate-friendly construction in various panels and sessions. In addition, innovative solutions from Berlin start-ups will be presented to provide new impetus for the future. International perspectives on urban challenges will be provided by Prof. Carlos Moreno, Professor at the University of Paris IAE – Panthéon Sorbonne, and Dominique Bureau, Chief Economist at the Société des grands projets. Exciting discussions are also expected with Senators from the Berlin State Government: Christian Gaebler (Senator for Urban Development, Construction and Housing), Franziska Giffey (Senator for Economics, Energy and Public Companies) and Ute Bonde (Senator for Mobility, Transport, Climate Protection and the Environment).
We are looking forward to interesting insights, numerous networking opportunities and stimulating discussions with all participants.
