The groundbreaking ceremony for the sustainable housing project at Leystraße 122-126 in Vienna’s 20th district took place on 19 April 2024. Together with the general contractor STRABAG, Brigittenau district leader Christine Dubravac-Widholm, our managing partner Harald Oissner and representatives of the press, this first milestone was properly celebrated.
In cooperation with the general contractor STRABAG Real Estate (SRE), 53 flats with 34 underground parking spaces, a fitness room, a children’s and youth playroom and attractive outdoor facilities are being built.
The project sets new standards in terms of sustainability and economy by using CO2-reduced EcoTB-Puzzolan concrete for the first time, which enables CO2 savings of 43% compared to conventional concrete.
The building’s energy supply is guaranteed by an efficient photovoltaic system with buffer storage. Groundwater heat pumps and building component activation ensure environment-friendly heating and cooling, independent of either district heating or fossil fuels. This results in a sustainable home and significant savings in operating costs. The project sets new standards in terms of sustainable and economical construction and leads the way for future innovations in the construction industry.
