On the south fringe of the city of Vienna in the vicinity of the Vienna spa and the future end station of the underground U1 an attractive new quarter with outstanding living quality will be developed.

On the site of Grundäckergasse 3 government-funded and 2 private housing projects will enable a lively mix of diverse forms of living. Thanks to the connected underground car park the whole area on ground level will be car free and offers high quality green spaces with little noise and toxins.

The project part of BARI provides 166 affordable flats of the standard of the Viennese residential building initiative. The L-shaped structure together with the adjoining building forms a longitudinal meandering structure. The sloping terrain is being used for private gardens on two levels.

The deeper lying courtyard opens to the south to the communal garden with a meeting place and youth playground and so gets many hours of sunshine into the apartments.

3 staircases provide a compact and economical access. Spacious penthouses with terraces complement the residential mix of compact layouts with individual outdoor areas.
