The renovation work at the Alfons Maria Senior Citizens’ Centre is on schedule and is progressing rapidly. The construction work is proceeding floor by floor from the top floor down to ground level. This means that progress is most obvious on the 3rd floor, where, the drywall installation work, including the hanging ceilings, has been completed and the linoleum flooring has been installed. The specific hygiene requirements mean that the floor-wall connections are mainly in the form of covings. The tilers have also finished gluing the floor and wall tiles on the 3rd floor and are currently hard at work on the 2nd floor. Currently, the interior doors are also being hung on the 2nd floor. While the painting work is currently in progress on the 1st floor, the building services trades are finalising the installations on the ground floor. On the outside, the last few sections of the old façade are being removed. Most of the scaffolding has already been dismantled, so the future façade is already visible. In addition, the two emergency staircases are currently being built.
To sum up – the future nursing home is getting closer and closer to completion at the end of this year!
