The residential building at Schäffergasse 10-12 in Vienna was successfully completed in 2023. The ecologically sustainable complex was built as a solid low energy house to meet high energy efficiency standards. Photovoltaic panels on the roof ensure a sustainable and ecological energy supply. Heating and hot water are provided by an advanced air-to-water heat pump, further reducing the building’s carbon footprint. A particular highlight is the design of the street facades in Pressgasse and Schäffergasse. These are structured by high-quality, climate-friendly façade greenery, which includes both horizontal flower troughs and vertical climbing aids. These elements not only help to improve the microclimate, but also create an attractive cityscape and promote biodiversity in the urban environment. As part of the “Grätzl District Tour” on the topic of “Sustainable New Construction”, everyone will have the opportunity to take part in a neighbourhood walk in the 4th district on 6 December 2024 from 15:00 to 17:00, during which we will present our project in detail. Our project manager will provide first-hand information about the building and give everyone an insight into the sustainable project. The tour is an initiative of the City of Vienna’s Urban Renewal Department, which aims to present and promote innovative approaches to decarbonisation in urban areas.
