Temporary accommodation has become an important area of the property sector in its own right. As planners, we have noticed increasing demand for short-term or serviced flats over the years and have responded to this need accordingly. Working alongside our clients and partners, we have been able to provide a large amount of student accommodation of this nature or other forms of temporary housing in recent years. As general planners, we supervised the “Donau Homes” project, where the high demands of temporary living are comprehensively taken into account with modern studio flats and all of the leisure facilities and shared areas. Another project that corresponds to this current living trend is the “Campus Studios” project. These studios offer everything that future occupants expect from a modern hall of residence. They combine university facilities, accommodation and leisure opportunities under one roof. At the end of 2020, another 140 modern serviced flats were completed in Aspern Lakeside Town. These are part of the Sirius building complex and also offer comfortable temporary accommodation in the heart of Seestadt.
We are currently involved with other projects as a project partner. Similar projects are not only being developed in Austria, but also in Germany. One of these is the LabCampus project in Munich. A new innovation centre is being built on land that is part of Munich Airport. With the motto “connect, create, collaborate”, this location is geared towards cross-sector collaboration, joint development, testing, presentation and implementation. Hotels and serviced flats for short and long-term stays will be created on site that will allow the worlds of work and life to be combined in the best possible way. WGA ZT GmbH has been selected as the general planner for the planning and implementation of one of these projects on construction site A.2. The future Hyde Living complements the infrastructure of the LabCampus. With over 200 customised serviced flats, it provides flexible accommodation for guests who will be working on the campus on a project-by-project basis. It is an exciting project and we are already looking forward to reporting more about this in the future.
