In the early morning of the first September, the staff of the WGA gathered together to make the planned trip to the Rax-Alm (100 kilometers away).
After taking the bus from the Morzinplatz, we reached our destination, the valley station of the Rax cable car, after about 90 minutes.
From there we dived with the gondola deep into the thick fog cover, which surrounded the alpine runner. Although the fog also continued in higher regions, we started our roundtrip from the valley station to 1,547 meters above sea level.
The landscape would have been a feast for the eyes, but unfortunately nearly everything was covered in mist – as well as the aim of our trip, the view into the lowlands from the “Höllental Aussicht”.
At the end of the excursion, we had a lunch together at the “Raxalm Berggasthof” to recharge the spent fuel before we set off on our return trip and reached the starting point of our trip in the early evening.
To conclude, altough we didn´t have the best weather conditions, we had a very nice trip and we are already looking forward to the next one!
