Every two years, students’ selected diploma theses are made accessible to the general public at the Archdiploma, organised by the Vienna University of Technology.
A total of 90 different diploma theses from the Faculty of Architecture and Spatial Planning at the Vienna University of Technology were exhibited in a room of the Az W in the MQ in Vienna between 12/12/2021 and 10/01/2022, inviting the public to engage in mutual exchange and discourse.
The diploma thesis “Gravitationsorte – Ländliche Lebensräume mit Zukunft?” by Lukas Bayer, BSc, for example, addresses the question of how today’s villages can still meet the needs of their inhabitants and so prevent migration into urban agglomerations.
“Mobilisation of building land reserves by means of contributions” by David Heindl analyses building land reserves in villages that have been designated as building land for decades but not developed. This forces municipalities to allocate new building land on the periphery of the village, resulting in urban over-development.
These and other exciting projects can be viewed in detail at the website of Archdiploma.
Since WGA ZT GmbH is always keen to support young students and graduates in their creative work and their professional careers, we were once again the main sponsor and premium partner of Archdiploma 2021, along with the Federal Chamber of Civil Engineers and pro:Holz Austria. Ten selected projects were each awarded with EUR 400.
We congratulate the winners and the TU Vienna for the successful “Archdiploma 2021” event. We also wish all students and young graduates all the best for their future!
