We are especially looking forward to the exhibition Zwischenstand der Zwischenstadt, which can be attended from the 20th of April 2023 to the 5th of May 2023 at the Planungswerkstatt (Friedrich-Schmidt-Platz 9, 1010 Vienna) from 15:00 – 19:00.
WGA ZT GmbH is sponsoring this exhibition because Harald Oissner, architect and managing partner of WGA ZT GmbH, is committed to supporting dedicated students of the Department of Architecture.
The exhibition focuses on different peri-urban spaces and raises the question of whether we still live in the city or only work in it. Many live and spend their free time in suburban areas and are therefore not really in the city but also not in the countryside, but rather somewhere in between. This exhibition focuses not on the city, but on its periphery – such as shopping centers, family homes surrounded by feeder roads, and deer eating on noise barriers.
A group of researchers and reflectors from the TU Munich, the Bauhaus University Weimar, the University of Luxembourg, as well as the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, and the TU Vienna, have approached the topic from various positions and perspectives over the course of two semesters and presented this interim status for discussion for the first time in November 2022 at the TU Munich. The initiative of the Urban Planning Research Department at TU Vienna has now made it possible to bring the exhibition to Vienna.
We are looking forward to many visitors, an open discourse, and a creative exchange of knowledge on this exciting topic.
